Lightweight
A Mirrorlite Glassless Mirror 2' x 2' ceiling panel weighs a little under 1 lb. and a 4' x 6' wall panel weighs roughly 8 lbs. Since Glassless Mirror panels are lightweight they are easily transportable and are an ideal choice for non-load bearing applications.
Mirrorlite Glassless Mirrors can be affixed to any flat surface with minimal or no preparation. Since they are light weight, wall inserts and mirror supports are unnecessary. The mirrors can be mounted directly to finished plaster, wood paneling and interior partitioning.
The lightweight and shatterproof nature allow Mirrorlite Glassless Mirrors to be used in applications unthinkable with glass or resin mirrors such as suspending them from ceilings with wire or nylon line or affixing directly to ceilings with our "Velcro-like" removable/re-closable fasteners.

Easy to clean and maintain
Because the Mirrorlite Glassless Mirror panel face is only one thousandth of an inch thick, it has virtually no mass, no static electricity. Dust and grime are not attracted to the panel surface. If the panel should become dirty, it is easily cleaned using a non-abrasive, non-fibrous cloth and any common household clear non-abrasive cleaning liquid.
The low mass nature and ventilated design characteristics of Mirrorlite Glassless Mirrors virtually eliminate condensation and fogging and can be used in environments such as bathrooms, kitchens and enclosed swimming pools.

Unique construction
Mirrorlite Glassless Mirror ceiling and wall panels consist of an ultra-clear metallized film stretched over a lightweight aluminum frame. This is the same film used for large optical mirrors. With conventional mirrors, the reflection is viewed through a thickness of glass or acrylic and its quality depends on the mirror's flatness and thickness. The result is a "fun house" or "oil can" effect that distorts the image.
Because the film is mounted on raised edges, an air space is created between the back of the film and the core. The air space, 1/8", allows the film to flex under minor impact without damage.

There are many types of reflective panels that can be used in suspended ceiling systems. Most of them are not mirrors, but shiny metallic surfaces that create distorted "fun house" reflections. Glass mirrors are sometimes used for their true reflection, but they are heavy, fragile and very dangerous. Acrylic mirrors are not flat, distort the image and are flammable.

Sound reduction
This can easily be achieved by adding a sound absorbing panel over the glassless mirror panel(see drawing).
Even without the addition of a sound absorbing panel, the rigid foam core design of the Mirrorlite mirror panel assists in dampening sound and vibration.
Thermal Insulation
The core of a Mirrorlite Mirror is effective as thermal insulation. In the interest of energy conservation, particularly in air-conditioned structures, consideration should be given to the insulation value of a Mirrorlite Mirror.
Size
Ceiling panels are nominal 2' x 2' or 600 x 600mm. Mirrorlite Glassless Mirror ceiling panels drop into standard exposed grid systems. Custom shapes and sizes available on wall mirrors and ceiling panels. Inquire for details.
Color
